Yang Liyong is rare in anti-drug police who loves to laugh.

Yang Liyong is the captain of the anti-drug brigade of Baiyun District Branch of Guangzhou Public Security Bureau. With the assistance of the superior anti-drug department, he joined hands with the Indonesian police to transport more than 250 kilograms of ice to Indonesia on the original route.
Under his command, the police officers of the special project spent several months to find out all the drug-hiding dens and the subjects involved in the chain. As the commander, Yang Liyong even asked himself to be familiar with the living habits and psychological state of each subject involved.
Everything is ready. At the critical moment when drug dealers are preparing for delivery, Yang Liyong calmly commanded, China and India jointly closed the network, and six provinces in Guangdong and Shaanxi were arrested simultaneously, 7 criminal suspects were arrested, 5 kilograms of methamphetamine, a large number of disguised tools, and 900,000 yuan in drug money were seized. Five foreign drug-related foreigners were arrested in Indonesia and 255 kilograms of methamphetamine were seized.
For successfully completing the delivery of arrests under domestic and foreign control and achieving a full-chain strike, the case was named “the most influential case of international law enforcement security in 2016-2017”.

Three years of drug control and rectification

Under his leadership, Baiyun District has created anti-drug methods suitable for local practice, creating multiple replicable and popularizable “Baiyun Experiences”; creating Baiyun anti-drug techniques and tactics; strengthening anti-drug education projects, and carrying out a 100-day anti-drug campaign across the district; focusing on science and technology to control logistics, participating in the formulation of “five 100%” logistics delivery management regulations, cutting off drug transit and distribution paths, etc.
From nothing to something, from something to specialization. Three years later, the “Baiyun Experience” was at the forefront of national drug control and was recognized by peers. The Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission and the Ministry of Public Security promoted and studied the country.
In December 2018, Baiyun District passed the acceptance inspection of the National Drug Control Commission and announced that it had successfully removed the “toxic hat” of key drug control.
Data shows that since the key drug control in 2016, Baiyun District has cracked more than 3,000 criminal drug cases. Cinema, Komiks has cracked down on more than 90 drug-related gangs, handled more than 25,000 suspects involving drug illegal crimes, and seized more than 2,000 kilograms of drugs; 10 target cases of the Ministry of Public Security, 30 target cases of the provincial target cases, and 28 online cases have been solved. After hearing the girl’s words, Yang Liyong’s eyes were wet. Several years have passed, and this scene has been deeply imprinted in his mind.
He often wonders: “How is this child? Will her future change because of our arrest? How many strange visions should she experience when she grows up? How strong is her heart to be able to bear criticism, pity, and lament from the outside world?”
He has been a police officer for many years and has never been afraid of the vicious criminals. Such a scene makes him feel mixed emotions. In his opinion, every anti-drug policeman’s belief in “no drugs in the world” is ultimately reflected in a family and children.
“Such scenarios have changed me and inspired me.” He told reporters that his goal is to save more people through the efforts of drug-killing police officers and establish the awareness of the entire society that rejects drugs.
