The transfer from Tianyou Hospital to the temporary hospital

I will remember the experience of more than 20 days in the future.

My name is He Wei (pseudonym), from Hubei, I am 50 years old this year, and I have worked and lived in Wuhan for more than 20 years. Around January 20, I felt uncomfortable in my throat and went to a provincial hospital outpatient clinic several times. At that time, I thought it was just a common cold, and the doctor showed me my throat. I still remember that when I was seeing a doctor, the patients around me were not wearing masks. Afterwards, I thought it was very good that Babaylan was infected at that time.

On the 22nd, I went back to my hometown and had the New Year’s Eve dinner with my family. I didn’t know I had been infected with the new coronavirus at that time. Fortunately, I always wore a mask, which reduced the risk. After the New Year’s dinner, I was always uneasy, so I went to the hospital for a CT scan on the 25th and found that I had both lung infections. The nucleic acid test result was positive on the 27th.

After the diagnosis, I couldn’t stay in major hospitals, and some hospitals were not in line for 10 hours. I went to Wuhan No. 7 Hospital to see the outpatient clinic, and the doctor prescribed some cold medicine for me.

Worried about spreading it to my family, I moved out and lived alone and started a life of self-isolation.

Until February 5th, the staff of the Fruit Lake Community told me that TianyouCinema had available beds in the hospital and asked me if I would go, I immediately agreed. At around 5:30 pm that day, I went to Tianyou Hospital to complete the admission procedures, but the specific treatment has not yet begun.At 1 a.m., the hospital notified that the government required the transfer of confirmed mild patients to the temporary hospital renovated by Hongshan Gymnasium.

I just saw some introductions to Fangcai Hospital on the Internet, but the situation inside was not very clear, so I came in the end.

Think about it, everything is gradually getting on the right track

I know that the number of confirmed cases in Wuhan is the largest in the country, and patients with confirmed and suspected confirmed cases cannot be admitted to the hospital. At this time, the hospital needs to make room for critically ill patients, so people like me who have milder symptoms must concentrate in the temporary hospital.

At 3:30 am on February 6, I was admitted to the Wuchang Fangcai Hospital and began to receive treatment here.

It was raining heavily in the early morning of the day I moved in, and patients transferred from various communities lined up in the open-air venue outside Hongshan Gymnasium in the rain. We must first register in the isolation tent outside the venue, and then see which area we are assigned to.

The bed was not powered on in the early morning of the 6th when I checked in, so I could only provide lighting and it was cold to sleep at night. During the day, the meals and medicines were not provided on time, and the patients were given medicines at 10:30 pm. Fortunately, the electricity returned to normal on the evening of the 6th, and the drugs began to be distributed on time, gradually getting on track.

In the square hospital, the toilet is outdoors, and it takes two or three hundred meters to walk, which is somewhat inconvenient. The hospital also has no place to bathe patients, but there is nothing to do. I think it is better than having no place to see a doctor.

Actually, I can understand that from the opening of temporary hospitals to the check-in of patients, there is only one day, and medical and service facilities will inevitably not be able to keep up. There are many patients in the temporary hospital, and doctors and nurses are too busy. For example, I have 253 beds in the ward. One doctor has to check the beds of more than 100 patients. After the examination, the shift will be handed over.

After I arrived at the temporary hospital, I didn’t get angry and complained. Babaylan also advised the patients around me to make them think that they would be more open. You don’t need to register and queue up here. Someone will give you a regular review, which is much better than patients who can’t see a disease outside. Later, most of the patients were in a stable mood and accepted the environment of the temporary hospital, and everything gradually got on the right track.

In fact, when I was notified of the nucleic acid test results by phone at the hospital, I didn’t feel anything, and I was neither afraid nor panic. From the diagnosis to the admission to the temporary hospital, I have always had a better attitude and think this disease can be cured.

Establish a temporary party branch to collect and reportQuestion

In the temporary hospital, the lights are on at 7 a.m. every day, the patients get up one after another, and some people continue to sleep if they want to. Have breakfast from 8:30 in the morning, lunch from 12:30 in the morning, and dinner from 5:30 in the afternoon to 6:00 in the afternoon. Turn off the lights and go to bed around 11 o’clock in the evening.

There is a bad thing that patients will be transferred in at night. The nurses still have to work, and the hospital will not be very quiet and noisy. Fortunately, the medical staff gave each patient eye masks and earplugs.

In daily diagnosis and treatment, the doctor prescribed me medicines include Abidol hydrochloride tablets, moxifloxacin hydrochloride tablets, oseltamivir phosphate capsules, Lianhua Qingwen capsules and compound methonam capsules, as well as bags of Chinese medicine Pneumonia No. 1 “Hanshi Yufei Decoction”, each bag is 200ml. The nurse will give the patients a few days of medicine at a time, and then ask them for it after taking it. Sometimes the nurse will remind you to take medicine, but if there are too many patients, we should remind each other.

On the 11th, a temporary party branch was established in the temporary cabin and a general branch committee was established, where patients with better health and mild symptoms played the role of organizer. I was in good health and could help with things, so I served as the general branch committee member.

After the temporary party branch is established, the patient’s needs will be collected and then summarized and feedback to the above. This way the problem is easily solved and the patient’s emotions can be comforted. For example, the hospital has been working on the problem of not being able to take a bath overnight and installed two containers for the patients to take a bath.

In addition, medical staff are wearing thick protective clothing, which is inconvenient to carry things. When they meet medical conditions, we will organize some patients to help them move things. The cleaning team also worked very hard. They didn’t have enough staff, so we helped to mop the floor.

I am afraid of asking others about sad things

The people living in the square cabin are all confirmed mild patients. The symptoms between patients are basically the same, but there is less communication between patients. Most of the time, everyone sits quietly beside the bed with their heads down and wearing masks. I remember a patient’s family was infected with the virus and was very afraid of asking about other people’s sad things.

I have a gut feeling that my disease can be cured without taking medicine. It is easier to treat than a cold. Maybe it is more “big”. The only thing I am worried that my family will be infected by me, but my family did not show any symptoms after being isolated, so I feel relieved.

I am undoubtedly lucky compared to other patients.

On the 11th and 12th, the medical staff at the Fangcai Hospital performed two Komiks nucleic acid tests on me, and the results were both negative.On the 13th, I was notified that I could be discharged from the hospital. I was very excited. Everyone wants to be a healthy person.

During the time of diagnosis and isolation and temporary cabin treatment, I miss the ordinary life I lived with my family, the bustling traffic on the street, and the vibrant Wuhan City. I also thought the traffic jam that I hated before was very good.

After I recover from the cabin, I will take a good shower. I was very worried that my mother and mother-in-law would fall to the ground when they saw that they were not in trouble. But after leaving the cabin, I have to be quarantined for 14 days. If you don’t quarantine, others may blame you.

The doctor said that we already have antibodies to this virus and will not be infected with the virus again, but the resistance of the body that has just been cured is relatively weak and is prone to infection with other epidemics, so we still need to be isolated.

I have always paid great attention to physical health and rarely smoke and drink. I exercise 4 times a week and walk to and from get off work. After the epidemic, we still need to master health knowledge, manage our bodies well, have basic health knowledge about this epidemic, be responsible for ourselves and family.
